10th Battalion – October 1916
The Btn was relieved from HILL 60 Sector YPRES area at 2120. The enemy fired 3 77mm shells at dinner time which caused 8 casualties, 1 O Rank killed, 7 O Ranks wounded. The relief was carried out without a casualty. The Bn was taken by train from YPRES to BRANDHOEK. Thence by march to treatment camp.
Arrived at Camp around 0230, the day was spent in cleaning up. a draft of 42 reinforcements joined the Bn a number of the men being members of the 43rd Bn.
The Bn settled down to training
Training continued in the morning. General clean up in the afternoon
Training continued. Moved back to Reserve at 19.00.

Moved to Billets in OOST HOUCK by march
Moved to Billets in HOULLE by march
Moved to Billets in TOURNEHEM by march
Settled down to Training
Training continued. The Bn entrained for PONT. REMY. then marched to Billets in BUIGNY L’ABBYE. PICARDY.
Arrived at Billets 1200.
Sunday. Cleaning up during morning. Route march in afternoon.
Moved by Motor Bus to BUIRE and accommodated in Billets.
Marched to FRICOURT and encamped. from FRICOURT the Bn was used for fatigues and Guards. Major R. RAFFERTY of 12th Bn took up duties of Senior Major.
Fatigue duties, 5 Officers joined the Btn Lieuts CORNISH and HERITAGE from supernumerary Lieut and 2/Lieuts SINCLAIR, HARVY and CHINNERY from reinforcements
Fatigue duties continued
Moved forward to Camp at Nth of BERNAFAY. WOOD. the ground very slushy and rained very heavily
Drying clothing etc and improving Dug outs.
